Delegates from more than 84 countries worldwide spanning six continents are expected to participate in the event. This premiere event will be held at the Courtleigh Auditorium, 85 Knutsford Blvd, Kingston, Jamaica. Contestants will be vying for several pageant titles including Miss, Miss Teen, Misses, Ms., Mr., and Mr. Teen United Nations. About DSP
Afro Music is the newest trend of music penetrating markets in recent times. This has interested so many talented artists in Africa; creating musical African instrumentals mix with western style. Ernesto Dweh-Sidi-Papay-2 Herbert aka “DSP” is one of those extremely talented artist sprung from a country not yet widely known in this trend and has used his unique accent mix with general afro style plus the contemporary western style to create a whole new classical international standard music.
A 1985 Liberian born, during the days of political unstableness, DSP didn’t have a regular childhood as his family had to soon escape from a bloody civil war that caused them to resettle as refugee in nearby Ivory Coast. This young refugee boy first interaction with music was from the voice of his mother singing in her dialect called Grebo. His older sister “Christine” was one of the major influences when it comes to his passion for music. He explains “My sister was and is still the greatest singer I have and will ever know. Her voice and patches was so refine and had me listening to her all the time. She always encouraged me to sing along with her and together we learned so many gospel songs, most especially a song called “Criminal on the Cross”. She did the soprano and I did the alto part. She and I were like the stars in the entire family as we used to be called upon every family get-together to sing the popular demand “Criminal on the Cross” ”.
After being in Ghana during the Liberian war, 2007 DSP returned to Liberia, completed the university with a BBA in Management and started work at Lonestar Telecommunication Corporation in the Information Technology department. Few years later he was contacted by Boom his old friend, to return to Ghana and get signed to his record label as Boom was now established with his own record label in Ghana. Because of the love of music that DSP believes is his life, he took the risk to visit Ghana almost every weekend and started recording new songs in this friend’s studio. This was so stressful coping with regular office stress and writing and making of music at the same time but he never give up.
This great step he took has led him to his current status. MTN, the leading telecommunication Company in Liberia and Africa as a whole have discovered that talent in DSP and have signed a contract with him as one of his major sponsors. He have release his first single “Monrovia Style” on the local Liberian market. This song was done in his local unique Liberian broken English called Koloqua that is intended to introducing him as a true Liberian and be known to his people as such. The Artist now working along with international publicist Junda Morris Kennedy and Abraham Monger as his Personal Manager is planning the release of his first international debut “THE PROMISE” which is fully packaged with his unique accent mix with general afro and western RnB.
